A person who has repented of their sins, is freed from the guilt of their sin, and has decided to follow Jesus Christ.
A Christian believes that Jesus lived a sinless life, was crucified, died on the cross as a substitute for sinners, was buried, and rose bodily from the dead, and is Lord over all! (1 Cor. 15:1–4, Romans 10:9–10, Col. 1:15–23)
A Christian is called to love their neighbour, pursue holiness, "to do justice, to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God." (Micah 6:8)
Yes, God is the creator of all things, including human beings. Because we humans disobeyed God (sinned), the relationship between God and humans is fractured and can only be repaired through God's plan. That plan was accomplished through Jesus' death and resurrection.
The Bible says: "For this is how God loved the world: He gave His one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life." (John 3:16)
We are saved from God the Father's wrath (judgment) because Jesus has satisfied the requirements of the law.
Jesus talked about heaven as a real place: "There is more than enough room in My Father's home. If it were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you?" (John 14:1–2)
Jesus told a repentant thief on the cross, "Today you will be with Me in paradise." (Luke 23:43)
Paradise is another name for heaven (Luke 23:43).
Heaven is central to a Christian's hope. The Bible tells us that a Christian's "citizenship is in heaven." (Philippians 3:20)
The Bible teaches that heaven is a real place where God dwells, and where believers are with Christ after death. Our final hope is resurrection and life in a renewed creation with God forever.
"But God showed His great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners." (Romans 5:8) God didn't wait for you to get all cleaned up; He loves you now.
"For this is how God loved the world: He gave His one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life." (John 3:16)
God not only says He loves you, but He also demonstrated His love on the cross.
God's love does not cancel moral reality. If God is truly loving, He must care about truth, justice, and goodness. "Should not the Judge of all the earth do what is right?" (Genesis 18:25)
"And the judgment is based on this fact: God's light came into the world, but people loved the darkness more than the light, for their actions were evil." (John 3:19)
God offers us forgiveness through Jesus' sacrifice on the cross. If we reject that forgiveness, we reject God; we choose to remain in darkness.
"For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God's glorious standard." (Romans 3:23)
The Bible teaches that no one is good enough to meet God's standard of perfection.
Christian teaching is that salvation is a gift; it cannot be earned.
"God saved you by His grace when you believed. And you can't take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done,
